Peeling has some merits, as you almost certainly have 8 outs on him and your deepstacked. However he's charging you 3k and assuming you get all his money on the river you win 12k (more than you would have if you folded), and you have 8 outs/44 outs to hit, like 16%, odds just arent good enough given the implied odds your getting. So peeling = bad, mainly because you have almost zero folding equity if you miss.

Raising = bad as well, when someone makes a giant stop-and-go in that situation on a board that hasnt changed too much on the turn and that person is B_Buddy, you arent getting him to fold. I like folding here.

if your going to start 3-betting with J8s, you might as well fire a continuation bet when you completely miss the flop, or you just throwing away money in bundles..

He doesnt think you have the best hand, but he thinks that your opponent will often fold if you push. He thinks that pushing will be +EV when you factor in your equity in the hand when called.
