Say we decide to call

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $49.00
BB: $49.70
UTG: $51.75
MP: $113.20
Hero (CO): $69.45
BTN: $64.35

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players)
2 folds, Hero raises to $2.00, BTN raises to $7.00, 2 folds, Hero calls $5.00

Flop: ($14.75) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)

We know he's betting this flop almost every time. What's our plan? Are we giving up?

I don't see what 4-betting does. If he is a thinking player he isn't going to call you with anything you beat. If he happens to have QQ+, you get your 4-bet blasted and if he has 97 he just folds. Make him pay postflop. Trap him on good flops and check-raise when you whiff. Make him hang himself.

LAG != maniac. notice op said he was folding to cr on the flop and such, implying he's not going far just with air. i don't know how running from the problem solves it.

Yeah. I don't know why I assumed maniac...just read it that way for some reason.

if he is a thinking player i doubt you are trapping him too much postflop unless you cooler him. and if you check raise your whiffs too often, which he may be thinking about because hero just took this line with some hand unknown to us now as well as to villain, than he will be shoving more of his range. If you are ahead of his 3-betting range as much as it seems here then 4-betting kills most of his hands, giving you the pot. QQ+ shove most likely, AKs, JJ, TT are put to the test for a lot. I doubt he thinks he has any fold equity left at this point because you haven't been 4-betting light or anythign so folding is in fact the right play if you make it like $18.

Question: Is there an amount we can 4-bet and fold to a push?

I've run numbers before and found that usually with 100 BB stacks that with a solid 4-bet you can fold if they're only pushing AA/KK, but it's obviously tough to follow through with that, and I may have to go back and re-evaluate it. But this situation is a little different because the effective stack size is a little deeper, making a 4-bet more attractive.

if it is a standard 100BB situation 4-betting is more dangerous. but seeing as we are effectively 130BBs deep i think we can fold to a shove unless he is a super maniac and it doesn't seem like he is given post flop play so far.

sarcasm i hope?

there's no way you're folding to a shove if you 4 bet. do some equity calculations here guys.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 41.904% 22.62% 19.28% 32535636 27736416.00 { AKs }
Hand 1: 58.096% 38.81% 19.28% 55825068 27736416.00 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

i would four bet this guy. if he is a thinking player then he is going to get away from most of his bluffs by the time the flop or turn hits.

if he pushes pre, i am calling. i dont like getting that much money in with AK, but if you say you are ahead of his range then do it. if he is 3 betting light then this 4 bet will make him respect you later on in your session. he has to fear that you have AK+ as well.

if you just call, i am probably either going to try and float(25-30 percent of the time) or just fold.

judging from what you said earlier about this player, a float against him might work quite a bit.
