I don't remember the straight-over-straight but the Ace 8 was pretty much an auto-call given the stack sizes, don't you think? Who is sensing that they're only 30% there and folding? [/ QUOTE ]super standard call |

love the all in with the flush move [/ QUOTE ] Ted is a rockstar. I can understand the whatif comments people are making about that hand but the fact remains that he did hit his flush and got paid because he knew what to put JJ on AND more importantly, considered what hand she would put him on. I think it was Mike who said they both played the hand well. They did. |

Re: Ted Forest is a bad ass
[ QUOTE ]
He mixes the best aspects of all the schools of poker. Hardcore aggression and math-based plays like the internet kids, great reads like the old school masters, and totally mixing it up like a great artist. And he used to date Dee Luoung (before Prahlad) Long live Professor Backwards/The Suicide King. [/ QUOTE ] Ted is dating Prahlad now? |

Re: Ted Forest is a bad ass
Why didn't Ted Forrest have a "Shooting Star" in that event? They said the only bounty left at the final table was JJ. I was like, why doesn't Ted Forrest have a bounty?

Re: Ted Forest is a bad ass
I don't remember if he did or not, and maybe the announcers got it wrong, but there are a number of reasons he might not be one. Matt Savage would probably know for sure, but I would guess that either:
a) He was a late entrant and they already had all the Star positions filled. I haven't seen him play in this event before, so he may have decided to play at the last minute. b) He just didn't want the attention. The Star basically agrees to sign autographs and be a celebrity during the tournament. I don't think they really showed what happens on opening day. They are treated almost like rock stars and are mobbed for autographs and pictures. The tournament prints up a small bio for each Star and gives them out to make it easier for the crowd to get autographs. |

[/ QUOTE ]I found it amusing that JJ had a bounty and Ted didn't. In past years Bay 101 had a bounty at every starting table so they'd need advanced confirmation that he was going to play so as to guarantee x number of bounties. If they did offer it to him, it's likely that he didn't want to commit. |
