Re: So Simple I\'m Almost Embarrassed to Post It
I think a bet of $35 on this turn is good hopefully getting him to check the river.

also to add, betting this turn is probably what i would do vs. weak players [/ QUOTE ] I agree w/ this...and I'm definitely checking behind most rivers. |

Re: So Simple I\'m Almost Embarrassed to Post It
Lately I have been betting these against players like this and getting a [censored] ton of calls from AK and the like, so, yeah, I think bet turn/check river is sweet.

[/ QUOTE ] why is checking better though? i'm not convinced yet [/ QUOTE ] well w/ out going too indepth. betting the turn you are never going to get value from bluffs. the only cards i am afraid of are A, K, Q (well flush cards if he bets something ludacris w/ obv timing tells). he may not even bet the river w/ TT, JJ but he will definitely call a turn bet. if he has QQ-AA i don't think he's gonna fire out something huge anyways so you lose about the same to them (also, what do you do when he calls and leads river?). AK/AQ possibly AJ/KQ you gain more from bluffs on river that is >>> than A, K, Q hitting. |

Re: So Simple I\'m Almost Embarrassed to Post It
the reasoning for the check behind is very weak... you should be betting the turn for value, not protection...

[/ QUOTE ] ok,so like i said previously, most river cards are crappy for us. so when he bets the river after we check, most of the time we're not gonna like calling. sure, he may be bluffing w/AKo, but we're probably gonna fold the river anyways if the something like the Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] falls. so when you say checking the turn misses value from bluffs...we're risking getting bluffed off the pot on the river anyways when a crappy card rolls off. |

value from what? [/ QUOTE ] [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] draws, [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] draws, 55, 77 and any 6. Not to mention AK. |
