Re: 2 questions
On Hand 2, for those of you who say fold preflop, do you do this because of the UTG limper? Without the limper, I think, although not good for high card value, QJs is a great hand with deep stacks AND position. I usually call a raise this size all day from the button. But...the UTG limper is a worry for re-raising.
Is this a leak in my game? |

This is a good point however, I would be more inclined to play this hand with 150 or 200 bbs +, |

Re: 2 questions
Hand 1 is ok, maybe bet more.
Hand 2 is fine. It is 6 max and you should punish the limpers. Without a read I would say he is limping with Ax suited, or small-medium pocket pairs and will give up if he does not hit. You have position. |

Re: 2 questions
53s is fine once in a great, great while. If you're running hot (don't tell me it doesn't make a difference, it does) fine. I'd definitely wait for better position than MP though. CO button is much better. Cbet flop normally -- stronger than you did.
Hand 2 is a call on the button. You want to squeeze when there's a raise and a call, not a limp and a raise. bet size is then rationally more than any pair can call. Only squeeze when you know your opener can fold. Generally don't bother at 50NL. Won't change your winrate much, and the play itself is more or less 0EV -- but it makes your big hands more profitable if your opponents are observant. I like a call on the button with QJs. It's a hand with some high card value (careful!) some straight value and some flush value. In position it's fine (full stacks, and other considerations of course make a difference.) |
