Re: What MLB parks have the best atmosphere?
Nice stadiums and nice atmosphere are probably two different things.
A Yankee-Red Sox game is amazing for atmosphere, I've never been to one that didn't feel like the playoffs. This holds true for seeing it at either Yankee Stadium or Fenway, both great ballparks. Other favorites are SF, Wrigley and Camden Yards. Least favorites are Shea Stadium, Cincinnati and Atlanta. Note: I've only been to about 12 of the current ballparks. |

Re: What MLB parks have the best atmosphere?
Jim - The game I went to was around Junr 6th of LAST year.
The Cards were in 1st place and the Reds were in 2nd just 3 games back. The Reds had recently fallen off and overtaken the Reds for first I believe. Reds would go on to sweep this series and move into a first place tie. The lack of enthusiasm over such a 1st vs. 2nd place series (even in early June) truly astounded me especially given the number of lead changes in this pretty exciting game. |

The old Busch Stadium was a piece of [censored].
The new Busch Stadium is a nice park, but it still has a terrible atmosphere because Cardinals fans have to be some of the worst in the entire league. They generally don't know anything about baseball, and their particiapation in the game is mostly limited to the wave and clapping in unison when the scoreboard/music indicates that they should. |

[/ QUOTE ] What gave the impression that St Louis baseball fans don't know anything about baseball? Cardinals fans are often mentioned as the most knowledgeable in baseball. I have been to about a dozen games in the new Busch. I think it is very similar to the old Busch in many ways. The one area I think it is better is concession lines are shorter. Haven't been to many, but everyone should go to a game at: [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. This park is beautiful. The atmosphere is great too. I don't know how the Giant Fans ranked compared to other parks, but to me they always seemed like a mix between hardcore fans and high class bastards who come to the game for a few innings just b/c it seems like a cool thing to do. And I love this mix. I myself am just a casual fan. Bleachers are wild. Sides facing the bay is gorgeous. |

I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I doubt you can do better than Fenway. You can just feel the history.
