Re: Mucking hand at showdown, what is correct?
[ QUOTE ]
At showdown, the winning hand must be shown (hence the show part of showdown). Any casino I've ever played at, that's been the rule. [/ QUOTE ] The Wynn is a "no show" poker room for what it's worth. |

Re: Mucking hand at showdown, what is correct?
[ QUOTE ]
Even if the other guy mucks, you have to show cards at the end to get the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Not at Canterbury. The river action often goes: Bet, call, muck; or Bet, raise, call, muck. The winning hand is, more often than not, never shown. |

Re: Mucking hand at showdown, what is correct?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Not at any room I have ever played in. Sounds like maybe a regional variation? In Nor. Cal./Northern Nevada the last player with cards wins, and in the case where no one else has cards then the winning hand may be mucked face down. [/ QUOTE ] They enforce this EVERY TIME at Foxwoods. NEVER seen it happen any other way. In a called pot, the pot can only be pushed when someone tables their cards. [/ QUOTE ] this is retarded. if only one player has a hand, who else is going to get the pot? the house? a mucked hand is a dead hand. |

Re: Mucking hand at showdown, what is correct?
I did this last night. Raised the River, got called, and just mucked. I wasn't expecting to see the other players hand, and assumed the rule was just that she would win the pot without having to show. However, she decided to show it and turned over Ace/Jack high with no pairs, which was sickening she made a call on the river, but still had my missed gutshot beat. That's what you get for playing in a freeroll. Can't get anyone off a hand, even on the river when all they have is A high. Sick.

There have been several times I have called river bets, the other guy mucked, and I won pushing my cards to the dealer face down as he pushed me the pot (10/20 LHE). So it may vary by dealer at Foxwoods. |

[/ QUOTE ] One dealer at Borgata tried to tell me this, hypothetically. I debated her for a minute ("Who are you going to give the pot to?" She said SPLIT) then gave up rather than call the floor to settle it, because if it ever comes up, I'll just show my hand. |

Re: Mucking hand at showdown, what is correct?
At Borgata 2 weeks ago, after the other player mucked the river to my call in a heads up pot, the dealer told me I had to show my 2 cards to get paid.

I guess the floor could have the pot pushed to you and then ask you to leave? They probably wouldn't grab your cards and forcibly expose them. |
