yeah guids, that happens to me a lot too. I'll be drifting off and then suddenly it feels like my bed is tipping over and I'll jerk back awake. Inner ear thing maybe.

Thanks to this forum I've found lots of stuff that I previously thought I was unusual for doing or for thinking lots of other people think and do to. So I'm not as weird or unusual as I once thought I was. I thought it might be a cool idea to start a thread where you tell something that you might think you are unusual or weird for and see if thats really the case.

A couple times a month I'll wake up in the middle of the night and Im laying on my back with my left arm straight up in the air and with my right hand Im using my fingertips to caress the length of my left arm. Its never related to anything I was dreaming about right before I woke up, and upon waking up I realize that it's something ive been doing for the last little while while I was asleep. If I could predict it with any kind of regularity I would set up a video camera to tape myself sleeping cuz I really wanna see how long I lay there doing that. Anyone else do that?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have my g/f do this to me all the time. It's one of the most relaxing things to me. Never done it to myself though, or in my sleep.

Sometimes when I'm almost asleep, my brain creates a loud noise, like a popping or something, it sounds like an actual noise, but it's something within my head, because my girlfriend never hears it, it's always really loud and wakes me back up. So, In summary, my brain creates a noise and it startles me.

[/ QUOTE ]

happens all the time to me, I usualyl jump up out of bed. Once in awhile, after a long night of partying, when im trying to fall asleep, right as I hit that "comfortable" about to fall totally asleep stage, I feel like im falling really fast and jump about 3 feet off the bed. It sucks beuase it happens like 10 times and takes me forever to sleep.

[/ QUOTE ]
I do this on the bus all the time. I don't think people like me.

I of course play it off as if nothing happened.

I think jason_t mentioned this in a similar thread a long time ago, but I like to pluck my nose hairs because I enjoy the eye-watering sensation.

I really thought I was weird for having those myself. I'm most likely weird for a lot of other reasons though, but good to be able to scratch that one off the list at least.
