Re: CC w/ a10o in sb
[ QUOTE ]
Given that he donked the flop it sounds his he misclicked preflop and didn't notice. [/ QUOTE ] or called, came back and saw the spot and presumed he 3balled. fwiw I don't think it's bad, you just have to cc some other stuff to balance it and is probably more work than it's worth to me. |

Re: CC w/ a10o in sb
villain in the hand was me.
siegfried... i dont play much lower, 25 50 is the lowest i play so i dunno. right when i started on abso i mightve donked about at 15 30 or something for like 400 hands or something but i dunno. i was acutally pretty shocked to see this play by bz here. i think he beat me in every pot we played, but i think i lost the minimum on this hand. i really dont think he misclicked pflop, he was donking turns a fair amount (though it was mostly on turn when he would 3 out me... haha, but maybe it was a misclick, i dont buy it) I think maybe BZ thought i wasnt doing very well in dealing with donks and was going for a b/3b which he would have accomplished against most people given my hand, not this time buddy. im probably like 28/22 maybe |

Re: CC w/ a10o in sb
So here's my thoughts.
1) The raiser was UTG 5 handed, and he was a 2+2er. The choices on the preflop play are either fold or call. 2) I don't like folding a strong hand like that. I can't remember if there was a donk in BB but that would give even more reason just to call. 3) My flop donk was just to mix it up. I like to put the middle player in a tough spot, and I make this play with both top pair, monsters, and draws. 4) Donking the flop 3 ways is stronger than a checkraise, so it puts the preflop raiser in a situation where it's tough for him to raise with a marginal hand. |

Re: CC w/ a10o in sb
Also, it wasn't a specific shot at him. This is a fairly standard play for me in the SB, and I actually have never looked up to see how the hand fares in that position.
When considering 3betting a hijack raise with ATo, you have to put your opponent on a hand range that is worse than yours. This is clearly not the case here, even if opponent is like 31/23. I guess one way to think about it is to think of what you'd 3bet a button raise with. A7o? Maybe A6o? Now go back two positions, the worst I'd 3bet with is AJo, some suited broadway hands, and occasionally KQo. KQo and KJo I'm calling in the SB most likely. |

Re: CC w/ a10o in sb
why is preflop just to call or fold? However If these r ur choices u should propably fold. I just posted a hand on 2cracked where i cc ATo in sb vs a HJ 28% PFR and a 60 VPiP , i was suggested to fold. I think ur situation is even worse here.

Re: CC w/ a10o in sb
fair enough. reasonable analysis, and i could see how this might be a spot to ignore the 3bet/fold approach.
