CDC,

"bellagio was pretty weak sauce in terms of their ability to get me a full comp considering how much action i gave them."

Details on bill and play and comp status, please. Note that if you did not get what you deserve, your host can get things comped retroactively even after the stay has been billed to your credit card.

Cab at Prime was 2001 Blankiet. Very over the top. Shafer was 1998 Hillside Select. Cab Franc was 2001 Arietta.

Earlier in the week a group went to dinner and the 2001 Heitz Martha's Vineyard was shared. The Heitz was terrific with it's characteristic eucalyptus notes, and a relative bargain on Nob Hill's list, which is easily one of the most expensive I've ever seen. It's good to see an old-school Napa vineyard return to form after a late phylloxera driven replanting.

I thought Prime was underwhelming. I think it's a Jean-George Vongerichten restaurant, and for me confirms the knocks on his places (high concept, fabulously expensive, generally underwhelming unless he is personally supervising). Delmonico was great despite my resistance to anything Emeril. The wine list was like reading a bible and the food terrific.

Blackjack is awesome, particularly when hearing about Diablo's skills at jinxing the table and losing at roshambo.

Sounds like a fun trip. Compared to other expensive LV restaurants I've been to, Prime is good. I think the steaks are on par with Delmonico's. The service is also good. Delmonico's however has better entrees, a better wine list, better service, and arguably better meat depending on your taste.

Let It Ride, which is pretty much just a full-on retarded game.

Change mind and decide to take one last shot at Let it Ride. Hit a straight flush for $20,000.

Fun meeting everyone. I had a great time. Especially the part where I fell asleep at Wynn watching CDC play some clown headsup at 8am.

After dinner, stinkypete finally woke up for good (I think he had crawled out of bed at 9pm and so by midnight was just coming to life)

[/ QUOTE ]

Getting some sleep really helped. For those who aren't following, stinkypete is doing incredibly in the main event -- still in, day 4, only 300-some left of 6300 entrants.

Way to beat out six thousand people so far, Pete!

i had the bone-in ribeye at delmonico a week ago, and i really wasnt that impressed, as it was supposed to be their 'signature steak'. my friend's filet was much better imo.

[/ QUOTE ]

I must say I find this strange. Bone-in ribeye is my favorite entree there and I find it to be way more flavorful than the filet.
