all the movies sucked. each scene was like 30 seconds long and they tried to incorporate every worthless plotline in the books.

well, dont put too much trust in my harry potter opinions, but id be surprised if this one doesnt get the lowest rating of the bunch.

[/ QUOTE ]

It has. Prisoner of Azkaban was the only really good one imo.

Can you link any of these bad reviews? Everything I have seen has comments like this.....

"But the new “Harry” turns out to be one of the best entries in the series"

a) the books are really really good; very deep and u can find links to tons of historical and classical events (look up the general/emperor Severus; or SIRIUS' role in Egyptian mythology)...and the use of foreshadowing and red herrings and such are very good; it's obvious she planned out the entire series before writing book 1

b) the movies aren't nearly as good, but still enjoyable if u are a fan

c) OotP was the worst of the books, so i don't expect the movie to be that great...it's more of a linking book, like The Two Towers in LOTR...

d) i highly doubt ladykiller had much of a chance of liking this movie if its her first HP book/movie...she knows nothing of the background or history and chose the one with the least action...again, like watching Two Towers without having read/seen FotR

e) it's got a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes right now, which is pretty darn good...so i don't see how it's getting panned critically (transformers got 57%)

like The Two Towers in LOTR

This is a bad analogy, this was easily the best book of the three.

have never bought or viewed or read or thought about anything related to harry potter, plan to keep it that way

Don't watch the Titanic either! You showed them.

The books, while light reading, are quite entertaining.

The books dominate the movies ... Order of the Phoeix is the worst of the books ... choose your own adventure

Comments should be separated by those who have read the books and those who haven't.

This surprises me (I haven't seen the movie yet). I remember thinking when I read the book that it would be impossible to turn into a decent movie in under 3 hours if only due to the large amount of information necessary to include without having gaping holes in either this movie or the next one.
