I also think you need to c-bet the flop. Without reads, and the line you followed, his range is really wide.

How would you play this hand if you were IP?

So you are basically looking to make the hand easier to play instead of maximizing profit? Usually people aren't betting 2 streets here with a worse hand. So I think we can c/c turn in this situation and probably c/f river without a read. Although, I think I like betting the turn here...

Check behind on flop maybe bet turn if he checks again. Generally put in on street of betting max.

I agree with that. I was just asking tozzy how he would play it since he said being IP is invaluable here.

More thinking....
- If he bets and you know you are going to call any bet because you are stubborn: C bet the flop
- If you are willing to fold to anything b/c you forfeit, check fold.

No. I suspect that his betting range is wider than his calling range here.

i go like 60/40 call fold here against a complete unknown. Until proven otherwise, I put villain on a lower PP here a lot of the time.

errrm, kay, ive been rethinking this a lot (and misplayed like 5 hands due to that).
position is not the big thing i thought it was, and betting the flop is probably bad, but it has some major advantages:
oop we play c/c, c/c, c/f assuming villain plays c/b/b.
Once were IP, we cb on the flop, call a turnbet and fold to another riverbet. Tho this looks the same, it isnt. PPL are a lot less inclined to bet the turn *and* the river with a medium PP or smallish Aces since we make our hand look like it has SD value for as, whereas the oop thing makes it look a lot like a draw or the under-PP. thus, villains will bet the river IP, whilst they wont do this being oop.

Tozzy, I don't think c-betting the flop IP is the best thing to do for a few reasons. You are still advocating that you play the way that is the easiest as opposed to the most profitable. We don't play poker to make easy decisions, its to make the most profitable decisions.
