I've sat in the back of a audi s8, now that is a bad ass car. Here in Europe the image surrounding a audi is better then that of a mercedes (less balla though), people have some sort of respect for you opposed to when driving a benz. I still like the 7 series, and it drives like a breeze, not fun to drive though. But it is really comfy.

No idea what the price difference between the 2 is in the U.S. though.

E63 V M5 - Most people will say the M5 is a better car but thats not to say the E63 wont have its fans. Both cars are flawed in that they wont offer anywhere near the luxury of a ls/s/7/a8. They do offer more performance but this again is compromised due to them all being executive sedans.

If you want a executive sedan with some poke then the M5 is way ahead of the competition with respect to performance. Though they have had problems with the gear box. The E63's suspension and brakes let it down compared to the M5 but many prefer it because of the image/brand/baller aspect.

Sounds like the A8 isn't your car, most people know if they want one. As someone else said the LS460 is a great piece of kit but it sounds to me that you would prefer european/german?

The M6 is a whole lot of fun.

Decide what you want from the car and then choose. Others to look at include the Aston Martin V8, Porsche 911 (not my personal taste but don't let that stop you), any Maserati or maybe you would like an E320/535 and a 25k track day car ie clubman, radical etc

Hope I helped in some way. Enjoy the car and buy the one you can't stop thinking about.

I like this one a lot, even though its below the price range you listed. By the time you get all the options you want, it'd be about 55 or 60.

I think I am leaning towards the Euro cars like Kimpo said. I'm going to try to test drive the M5 and E63 today if I can find them. Two cars ago, I had a BMW 5 series and really liked it, so the M5 sounds cool. The E63 that Sponger mentioned still has me pretty excited, though. The only problem I have is that my current car's lease is up pretty soon so I need a relatively quick replacement. The E63 seems a little tougher to find in SoCal, whereas the M5's are more common (I think). If anyone is interested, I will give a trip report after test driving/looking at these cars. But really, I don't know much about any of these cars so it might not be that helpful. I'll try to test all of the Euro cars that have been mentioned in this thread.

Thanks for all of the input

I would definitely get a BMW. M5 if you want a sedan, or M6 if you want a coupe.
