that is such a bad flop to float-raise on.

Anyways, you're beat. Fold

[/ QUOTE ]

villain is 17/14 - basically removes straight possibilities
villain checked the turn - which i doubt he would do with a flush
villain c/r ai on the river - ruling out other sets imo

i'm not so sure we're beat

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok i see we disagree on some things, lets get one thing out of the way first - Terrible flop to float-raise on, correct?

On whether we're beat or not, normally i'd say we're doing ok here, but the fact that this is 300bb's deep, i'm pretty sure we're up against a nut flush here

[/ QUOTE ]

yea not the best flop to pull this on although you generally have good FE if the flush hits

i agree that i would fold this by default because of how deep we are.

given the way the hand went down (and the previously mentioned reasons) i'd say AhA and AhK begin to form a significant part of the villains range if we have a read that he is capable of big bluffs.

I thought I read that king hi boards were supposed to be the best boards to bluff on.

if your range for raising this flop is 77, 33, and bluffs (including draws), then you have some huge issues with balance because flopping [censored] is a lot more common than flopping a set.

its a dry enough flop that he'll turn into a station with the king, and and least call with a flush draw

You are beat, fold, his stats indicate that he has the goods. He's not shoving over 200 BB's on the river with air, or valuing a hand you beat. Tough and annoying fold but lay it down. Also agreed that letting this go on the flop might be the better move.

just because he's 17/14 doesnt mean he's not crazy postflop. i've seen plenty of players with even nittier preflop stats 3 barrel bluff and 2 barrel then CR AI on the river for 200BB with a bluff.
