Re: Poker Etiquette In Satellites
As soon as they start complaning, muck your cards so the shortstack gets to win that pot.
Then shove every single hand thereafter and call the clock immediately upon each of their turns and berate them into making a dumb call. Suckout on one of them and crush their hopes, dreams, and soul. |

Re: Poker Etiquette In Satellites
Whenever Im megastacked in a satelitte I always push every single hand near the bubble out of boredom. Especially when I'm at a table where everyone stalls and they are talking about "helping each other out"

Re: Poker Etiquette In Satellites
Raising here is fine. Everybody will fold to the BB who will either fold and be all-in on the SB next hand, or he'll call with a range of hands you beat often enough to make the play make sense. There's absolutely no logic in giving him a walk in this situation.
If the table gives him a walk and folds to him on the next hand, he'll shove for $3500 and you'll have to call in the BB with any 2 cards getting 3.67:1. Of those two situations (raising this hand or calling a raise blind in the next), which one is most likely to get you the seat? Don't listen to the whiners. BTW: When you raise this hand, if somebody else shoves, you do know to fold, right? Nobody should, but there are idiots out there, you know. |

You should minraise every hand and call any of their all ins(Assuming you are the big stack) out of spite for their awful satellite play. [/ QUOTE ] VERY NICE |

[/ QUOTE ] And what if the pusher has 11k. you got 6k in from your raise, 3k more from blinds, BB is probably calling, and prbably ~1k-2k in antes. So, your getting good odds here, calling 5k here to win ~22k? 4:1? At what point do you fold to a shove here. at 15k? that would still leave you with 20k? (10BBs) and obv not shortstacked? discuss |

Re: Poker Etiquette In Satellites
Please move this to HSMTT.
Understanding the theory-based concepts involved in the cadillac of poker (No Limit Texas Hold Them) is crucial. We have been avoiding this topic too long. We NEED an intricate discussion concerning the EV of pissing off the shortest stack on the bubble of satellites. Will he slash your tires if he bubbles? Will he suffer a mental breakdown and then sue you for ruining his life? |

No reason to be a cowboy. You're not trying to gain chips. Try to take out the shortest stack *or* leave him as short as possible. |

You should minraise every hand and call any of their all ins(Assuming you are the big stack) out of spite for their awful satellite play. [/ QUOTE ] I love this. I have at least once raised an all-in BB from the SB for no other reason then to eliminate him. The scenario ... Last sat to the 10B promotion Sunday Million. Hand-for-hand, one elimination to go. I hate the [censored] on my right. He's all-in on the BB with the very shortest stack. I'm in the SB with the 3rd lowest stack (or so). It's folded to me. He's a [censored] because he delayed to the max while the blinds were small enough for him (and me) to survive. This idiot was still delaying when it went hand-for hand as the blinds are about to go up and force us all-in on the BB. Because of this, the blinds went up just as the blinds reached us and now neither of us could survive the blinds (all we both had to do was survive the blinds, there were too many left at the time to expect to qualify before the blinds came). On the previous hand, I found myself all-in on the BB and only survived because I was lucky that so many players on my right were almost as short as me that they couldn't risk calling/raising because then they'd be all in on the next ante. So they give me a walk. When it folds to me in the SB, and someone has busted out on another table. Every player in the tourney is guaranteed a seat except the [censored] and the only way he can be eliminated is if I needlessly call. So I call out of spite with something like 74o or J6o. Unfortunately, his similarly lousy hand wins and he wins a seat. I go semi-deep (top 0.5% or so) in the Million though |
