he deposited using his g/fs card and sent me the money.

I don't know, but im sure theres money laundering issues around people depositing just to transfer everything to someone else? Its not a transfer site.

What I wonder is why he would go through the trouble of getting money from you, then having to deposit on party to pay you (if he had money here I would understand), instead of just using that same card to deposit money straight to poker stars. Sounds weird to me, but maybe I misunderstood something.

Numerous people who would know and have no reason to lie have stated that he was reimbursed 100%

a friend asked for 1.8k on stars. I said ok, pay me on party. he deposited using his g/fs card and sent me the money. I had already deposited 2k from my own credit card by that point. I withdrew 1k temporarily for rent and expenses. Next day my account is closed and support quoted "fraudulent activity" in the email.

[/ QUOTE ]

It doesn't sound right what you posted. If your friend wanted 1.8 K on starts why didn't he simply deposit it himself? If you needed the money for rent and so on, why didn't you ask your friend for the cash outright instead of asking for a transfer of funds?

It doesn't surprise me they froze your account

The reason we did that was that the Tuesday special was on in like half an hour and at that time it was like 1am and he couldn't go put money on his credit card, and his g/f's wasn't registered on stars.

but, nevermind that. you're saying if I call my bank and ask for the transfer to be reversed they can do that just like that?
(I don't work with banks a lot.just have a credit card and use it )

edit: and do I just tell them that I deposited and they banned my account without me doing anything against terms of service?

oh, and FWIW, i deposited 2000$ but only had about 1600$ left when the account was blocked. surely i can't ask them to reverse the charge for the whole 2000$ right?

and again, FWIW we went through all that because I'm in the US...he couldn't "meet up" with me and give me the cash cause he's from my country of origin some good thousands of miles away. I wanted to move to party anyway so transferring the money was something i would have had to do anyway. just that out of the money he was going to transfer me (1.8k) i needed to pay rent with 1k. unluckily the maximum deposit is 1k so i had to withdraw all that he transfered which made it look suspicious.
