Tank - then call. He will bet the river even with nothing. If we suspect that he is playing back at us because of our weak bet, then we need to let him hang himself further - because if we raise he folds and we gain nothing.

He has got to bet the river, in which case we raise all in, if he has a flush or two pair we get his stack - a lot. If he has nothing we get an extra bet.

I agree your turn bet sucks - I think you would appear just as weak with a half pot bet. It appears you think in terms of bets in relation to each other (smaller bet on turn than on flop). Think in terms of bets in relation to the pot.

In position I'm inclined to smooth call in the hope he bets the river, obviously allowing me to raise... OOP I would three-bet because I won't risk checking to him on the river.

Grunch...try betting more than that on the turn. It will make this hand a lot easier to play. As played, just raise him, even if he has one D, it's likely he'll get it in here at 5NL.
