Yah jacks is such a crappy hand to 4bet with for exactly this reason.

Are you in position? I couldn't tell if he was the button or the blind. It makes a big difference with what I want to accomplish with JJ preflop here.

I see people that 3bet each other relentless, but 4bet each other nearly never. If this is the case you guys have, I think you can make a painful fold here - but it's pretty marginal either way due to AK combos (as someone else ranged out above).

Not meaning to hijack this thread...but this has been a subject I've been thinking a lot about lately. In general, common knowledge says that the wider your range, the tougher you are to play against. Now in regards to 4-betting ranges, would it not be better to have your range polarized towards nuts or air?

[/ QUOTE ]

Light 3-betting is profitable among other things due to definable opening ranges - exactly how light 4-betting can be profitable, among other things due to definable 3-betting ranges, so why apply any different concepts to 4-betting than you would to 3-betting?

I have no clue what to do. I think I'm a little too deep for check/pushing.

I hate check/calling then check/folding if he jams the turn.

Is that the better play?

I'm OOP.

4betting with JJ is pretty terrible against all but the biggest droolers. 4bet/folding JJ with these stacks against anyone is criminal.

Why 4bet/fold anything? Why not just make the 4-bet a push?

Don't 4 bet with no clue. If you have the history it can be ok, but its pretty thin.

I like 4betting like this with air and KK/AA/AK. Not with JJ, and especially not if I don't know what to do if he shoves.
