Re: gettin dirty...
Do you cap AA-QQ here? If so, I think you need to cap AK also.

Re: gettin dirty...
I basically always check fold in this spot now without a read. If he's really checking a weaker A high here on the flop I'm going to thank him for free cards in the future and his weak tight play. I guess you won here against something like AJs, but in generally I think you either fold here or call down to see what he plays this way. Why raise now when he has 3-outs probably unless he's slowplaying a set Ts? Encourage him to bluff agains on the river or take the cheap showdown with A high.

Re: gettin dirty...
Sheesh, you guys must be playing in some seriously passive games if you don't autocap here. Against typical 20+ pfr opponents you should also be capping 99+, AQs, and some other hands occasionally imo. Then again my pfr is pretty high so I prob get 3-bet lighter than some.
PS- the turn c/r is creative but just concentrating on getting 2 BBs and NOT 4 would be my default (i.e. c/c, bet or bet, bet; or bet/call, check) |

with no read i hate it it depends what that flop check means to you as of late and to me, lately it means TT. If you disagree then I like it. [/ QUOTE ] I always thought so too but a lot of weird flop checks lately have made me reconsider (Lags will have a monster more than all other types). Even so I don't really see the motive behind this play. |

Re: gettin dirty...

why don't you always cap AA-QQ??? [/ QUOTE ] Against a guy who doesn't suck, if you cap, they can get away cheap on the BB streets. My general preference is to be more apt to cap OOP and more inclined to smooth call in CO or OTB if I get raised from the blinds, as it's a little harder to extract value OOP. C/R ing is A) a very strong move which again, can let a villain who doesn't suck get away cheaply, B) gets less value then B/3b in position and C) there is a non-zero chance that you whiff. All this means I'm more inclined to get the money in the pot preflop out of position for A) value and B) 'tying' villain to the pot so that he'll call down lighter due to pot odds. |

Re: gettin dirty...
against the right opponent, I'd just open fold the turn.
How you played it, you are just spewing chips everywhere. Just bet the turn if you think he has Ahigh. |
