Get a cell phone that has EVDO, get bluetooth, and there's your backup net connection, also usable on your laptop anywhere with cell reception. Like $10-15/mo for broadband from verizon.

Start calling people... Seriously, keeping a phone list is a good idea.

I have pretty much the same question I'm playing on party and often the connection gets lost(for all the players all over party) and then when the connection comes back up theres like 9 players left and the blinds are 1500/3000 can I mail for refunds then?

how does the dialup work mez? is it slower? the same? i am having constant troubles with comcast since i moved to this new house 3 weeks ago, but today was the worst of it....

comcast sucks... I've had similar problems a lot. Ask for a lead technician to come out (NOT subcontractors, they're worthless) - the lead tech put some kind of box on that boosts the signal and since then service goes down rarely.

Backup dialup - $10 per month (prolly cheaper now that was 2 yrs ago). slow as molasses to login, but play is ok so long as you're not surfing the web while playing. Search the interweb for dial up ISP.

backup dial up is turning out to cost way more than i expected. Ill have to buy a 56k modem for ~ $50. Comcast will have to intall a home phone line (cause i dont have/need one beofre htis) thats $25/mth. and then the ISP is like $10/mth.

there has to be something cheaper than $35/mth plus modem cost...
