Some advice: Do not attempt to reason with him; this will just not work. You need to find a way to FORCE him not to do this [censored] and he'll realize why later in his life.

[/ QUOTE ] no not really. he has this whole "screw the world while i act like a whiny emo kid" attitude right now. he doesnt like that ive disciplined/lectured/looked out for him and tried to not have him do the same mistakes i did when i was younger. he for some reason or another perceives it as a negative thing. im not even really against him experimenting with drugs and alcohol but hes in 6th [censored] grade. hes 11 years old and hes already screwing around with weed and alcohol while tagging up private property. i dont even want to know what kinda [censored] hes starting to do with girls at such a young age.

By the powers invested in you as a big brother, let him know that you won't put up with and will constantly check up on him, and will make life totally hell for him if he doesn'r straighten up right now. Let him know that you know that everyone else may be stupid and soft, but you aren't.
FWIW, reasoning with a sixth grader won't work. Explain the reason you are doing this but don't expect it to have much of an impact. Following through will.
