Re: I guess I\'m semi-bluffing?
I like it. People seem to be full of [censored] in blind wars and assume others are the same way.

Re: I guess I\'m semi-bluffing?
I call the turn, too.
If we shove, our madehand is useless, but if we call, our madehand often give us the pot unimprofed. |

Re: I guess I\'m semi-bluffing?
you guys saying call turn realize that we have like half the pot left on the river right? if we were 150bb I would like a call much more, but as it is it feels pretty weird. Also I thought maybe I'd get a call from lower hearts or something on the turn here that would just c/f a blank riv.
Also, say I call the turn and the river is A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], he pushes for approx 500 in 1k. Should I call it? |

Re: I guess I\'m semi-bluffing?
Pushing to avoid a tricky spot on the river, if that's the main reason, doesn't always pay obv. Against some players you can probably argue that calling the turn and ANY river is probably at least as good as pushing the turn (they have 60% of the pot, effectively, on the river so you can't discount another bullet if they have air or a missed draw) - so that any judgement on the river would add to this. Against other players you could argue that calling and folding anything that misses may be better than pushing the turn. This is HU so I can understand any reasonable line, but against a typically aggro type with those stats then I prefer calling the turn then making a decision. On a bad day it's always wrong but that's poker.

Re: I guess I\'m semi-bluffing?
4-Bet the flop, I certainly push the turn if I just call the flop.

Re: I guess I\'m semi-bluffing?
I don't think stacks make calling that bad, you'd still have 500 something left in a 900 something river pot. I'd call probably, but shoving isn't terrible either.
