Re: A Good BB/100 at 100NL FR
is like, it depends, how many donkeys you ran into,
what hands you were dealt, how many coolers you had, how often did you cooler someone else how often did people hit their combo draws did you have alot of bling battles where villians kept coming up with aa kk when you reraised ak. all kinds of [censored]. there are many "variables" that can affect a winrate even in samples as big as 100k hands and deffinitly 20k. |

Re: A Good BB/100 at 100NL FR
The vast majority of online players (over 80%), and i guess live players too, are losers. So to say that you are average if you attain a WR of 1-2 BB/100 is just not right. You are considerably above average compared to the field.
Just how so many people remain losers is frankly astonishing given how soft some of the games are. Then again, i have a friend that plays live that loves getting AI with paired hands, his theory being that they will only call if they can beat him and fold the rest.. since, rest>beat -> AI = good, he is GREAT to play against. With a WR of 1/2 BB/100, you are however probably about average so far as winning players go. Number of tables that you play is also big factor in WR, its hard to play loose and max margins with lots of tables, so many (not all but many) MTs opt for a low variance WR going for quantity rather than quality. As for sample size, I remember FutureDoc posting a 30k+ sample not so long ago where he ran at 0 BB/100 (followed by a big tilt out of frustation as i recall). He typically runs around 5-6 BB/100 as i recall. Thus 20k as a sample is nothing really. The problem too as Phresh points out is that as a learner or any player experimenting with their game, its hard to get a fix of your WR as your game evolves and changes. You intergrate some new aspects that improves your game and your WR, however you also intergrate some things that you THINK improve your game and your WR but atually are -EV long term. This has been termed - The luck of learning - namely that a long term reinforcement of behaviour can occur as a result of short term variations in luck. Thus, again, a large sample is required to gain any understanding of strategies. As an example, a variation play involving suited connectors UTG was looking terrible for me until recently as i had not stacked anyone with a set when i hit. It took over 25k hands to get the variance out of this play and for it show EV neutrality. Also, i am in -profit for AA at 200NL so far over the last 6k hands, it happens.. c'est la vie. It ain;t because i am weak tight, infact i am a [censored] idiot with money. |

For May and June (so far...) Over the last 20k hands or so, I've increased my VPIP% and PFR% by 3 and 2, respectively, and am now winning at 5.5ptBB/100 for June. When the month is up I'm sure I will come back down to earth and level off around 3.5ptBB/100... [/ QUOTE ] Your stats... wow.... |

Above 2 is above average [/ QUOTE ] Huh? How about above -2 is above average. The average player loses 2BB/100 because of the rake. |

Re: A Good BB/100 at 100NL FR
Here's the sobering news for you 20K hand guys.
After 100,000 hands, you will be about +/- 2BB/100 of your actual winrate. |
