Re: Stars 30 - a couple of questions
I don't like raising with 33 there.
And I probably would have just open pushed with the AJ in the first place. |

Re: Stars 30 - a couple of questions
So, even if people had been folding to a standard 2.5-3x raise, you'd still push AJ here? I had been able to get back in the game by pushing crap to steal blinds to get my stack to this point. No one had been making a play, so I figure if I push, the only way I get called is if I'm behind (maybe AT calls, but not sure). I just didn't like the idea of pushing with 11BB here - but again, I do appreciate the advice.
As for the 33 hand, I think I was so excited just to see a pair in my hand, I naturally raised. When he called and didn't bet the flop at all, I figured he didn't have a club, so thought I was good or at least drawing to outs. |

Re: Stars 30 - a couple of questions
Why push AJo? Because even if only better hands call, worse hands might be tempted to reraise and put you in a very tough spot like here.
Try to put calling arnges for both opponents to AQ+ 22+. I would be surprised if this wasn't still hugely +EV. And some of those hands most likely aren't calling a push. And I'm not sure only better hands call, by this time in the game I will have been all in so many times people call with less than AJo. I'm playing turbos though so maybe people are a bit more push/call happy there than the reg SnG's. |

Re: Stars 30 - a couple of questions
Yeah, for me the AJ fold was very much a read thing. I just have problems pushing when I have more than 10x BB usually.. maybe I need to fix that.
I've actually seen you around the turbos... I don't play them much myself, but saw you playing against a friend of mine the other day (I at least assume it was you). You two chopped!! LOL |
