Is everybody overlooking that the UTG raiser check-minraised the flop after raising preflop? This is a weird line. Although OP said that he thought villain might do this with a flush draw, I doubt that. Wouldn't he want at least some fold equity? To me this seems like a set/air situation, with the frequency of air depending on how much he thinks you're stealing in position.

Of course if you say he could very well do this with an overpair this is an easy 3-bet and hope to get it all-in right there. Otherwise I'd rather call and raise the turn so that we at least get some value the times he has nothing. If he fires hard at the turn I might just call.

Arito, i get where youre going, but you could make the same argument that he would want to protect his sets/T9 against draws, therefore this cant be a set/2p.

But I agree people are probably saying 3b without thinking it through to much.

Mertzo, you're right, but I think a lot of players see a set and think "MONSTER, SLOWPLAY!!!" a lot faster then they would with an overpair.

Also, Hero is in position and is known for playing in position, so he really doesn't have to have anything here. Villain needs to protect an overpair a lot more against weak one-pairish hands than he does a set.

I think you have the best hand here the majority of the time, but 3-betting seems like a good way to get all worse hands to fold and calling a push seems like a good way to get stacked by a set (unless villain goes crazy with overpairs).

Arito,
we're 250BB's deep. We need to raise it up to build the pot and increase chances of stacking.

Villain raised utg pf (which makes 33 somewhat less likely) and we're holding one ten and one nine which makes TT and 99 less likely, so I think we're pretty much commited here agains villains range.

If villain is bad enough to min-raise an overpair in this position, he might be bad enough to stack off with it. He also might be bad enough to call with a draw if he was semi-bluffing (since he put so much money in already).

If villain is just pulling a move, we won't get any more money out of him by slowplaying.

There are a lot of turn cards that kill our action or potentially kill our hand.

SO I go against my intuition and call. Turn comes K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. What now?? Str8, flush, and possible overpair hits.
