Re: No previous golf experience...want to learn
I can relate because I just started playing mid-March.
The first month I took a lesson every weekend to help get the very basics down. I can't stress how important lessons are to help you feel what a proper swing should be like. That first month I stuck to the driving range, and putting greens. The second and third months I've been playing the 9-hole courses here (Miami), as well as practicing at the range. In between that I've watched some of the golf channel tip shows, and looked at a few books to help me truly understand the mechanics of a good swing. One thing I cannot stress enough is to WORK ON YOUR SHORT GAME. Learning to pitch, chip, and putt has shaved many strokes off even this lowly hackers game. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] |
