Default Can raising preflop be bad even with aces?

9 handed loose table
You are in the BB with AA
Everyone limps in and you know they will call a raise anyhow.

Think about the following:
If you raise now, the pot will be much bigger, thus giving WAY better odds to every chaiser on the flop. So against all theoretical laws, wouldnt it be better to check preflop?

I'd like your thoughts about this.
