learn to throw a slider and changeup?

[/ QUOTE ]

I use my knuckleball as my change and it works well. Slider is OK but nothing looks cooler than a Bert Blyleven style hook.

Make sure your thumb is directly underneath the ball.

Bend your wrist in towards your head like the 2nd picture.

Come over the top, and try to aim for the batter's head.

[/ QUOTE ]

Also, and this is key....think "Fastball" the whole way and keep your fingers on top of the ball. It's like "fastball, fastball, fastball, curveball!"

Variance: that's also what I repeat in my head to last in bed.

I cant throw a curve either, although I didn't pitch past the age of 14 'cause I couldnt throw a strike despite having one of the best arms and also having a sick changeup.

After not throwing a baseball for like 5 years, I threw one a month or two ago at a Science Center and hit 71mph. At my best, in high school, when I was in shape, I could probably hit 80mph or so.

One crappy post deserves another....

I remember in 6th grade, we had this "field day" and the PE teacher had rented a radar gun and stood behind a fence and we could throw directly at him and he'd tell us the speed...
So me and my friends wander over there, and they all throw, I think the fastest of them throws like 51mph or something...I go on and on about how they are a bunch of pu$$ies and weaklings and sh!t...then I stroll up there, and throw that ball as hard as I could possibly must, damn near threw my arm out of the socket, and heard the PE teach yell out ...."THIRTY SEVEN MILES PER HOUR!!"

Ya, i was pretty much regarded as a pu$$y from that day forward...
