i dont see how his post violated any of the covoluted rules other than N!Ts arbitray enforcing of them.

i personally would have liked to hear whats happening in houston.

I think the problem with this thread is that if it is allowed then by day's end we have every person traveling/new to an area/shut-in asking about random cities. Pretty soon the front page would be

What to do in Houston?
Whats fun to do in Jacksonville?
Whats poppin in Buffalo?
Heading to Boise, what should I be sure to do?
Topeka Business Trip: What to do at night?

Maybe there should be a travel forum as others have indicated, but until then, best to wait for the semi-official El D forum ones, etc.

there is a differnce in google and first hand experience. is that hard to understand?

I would rank these threads ahead of about 50% of what's on OOT now. Why is a thread titled "Name The Best Movie That Starts With a K" or whatever the latest movie themed thread is - any better or worse than these threads?
