Non-Interventionist = / = Isolationist

In theory, yes. In practice, as the worlds only superpower and dominating the world economy, non-intervention is next to impossible to accomplish without isolationism.

Eg liberals like to cast the Iraq war as "intervention", when, in fact, allowing Iraq to continue on its course under SH would have required isoloationism, because his actions would have far reaching direct consequences for the US.

Saving 1000s of lives, preventing the waste of hundreds of billions of US treasury, not destroying billions of dollars of military equipment that will take decades to recapitalize, not spawning tens of thousands more terrorists in the long run, and not being able to use Iraq as a puppet state to allow us access to the 2nd largest oil reserves on the planet.

Seriously, I'd love to know what these "far reaching direct consequences for the US" are and how they're worse than the gigantic costs of this terrible war such as the thousands of lives of good American Servicemen and women, hundreds of billions of dollars of tax payers money, and generations more potential terrorists who hate us.
