this is a descent alternative to Seton Halls pirate radio. So much for cleaning up the airwaves.

106.3 in NJ is a pretty good alternative station, not sure if you can get it in NY though.

I get 106.3 sporatically when Im driving home from school. By the time I get that im usually get WFAN and that is usually on.

I always found the best part of Free-FM to be O&A, which they are keeping, and then the music returning on the weekends.

Damn straight. Now I know why he's been harping on the idea that he won't have a job when he gets back from Vegas for the last couple of weeks - dropping FREE-FM in NYC. 'YSP can stand to lose their midday junk while keeping O&A and Kidd Chris.

I remember when Z100 was playing the same 8 alternative rock songs repeatedly through the day. Must have heard "Lump" by PotUSA about 10 times in one day. They used to have the top 5 countup and all the songs would always be the same.

For anyone who's sick of bad music on the radio, check out Slacker (I won't put the url, so I'm not spamming). Right now it's only available online, but this summer they're supposed to release a portable unit that will use GPS satellite signals to broadcast to your car. It's similar to satellite radio but about 3 billion times better. The only thing it doesn't have is talk radio.
