Default Re: 1/2 WTF ??? Donk/call lead turn line ???

[ QUOTE ]
means he has you beat....why woudl you rais ethe Flop?

this means basiclly 2 things in my experience

1. a 3 or a pp wich dont want to give your A high a Freecard

[/ QUOTE ]

OK, this almost makes sense, save a bet by not threebetting but bet again on turn to not give freecard ... but what if raised again ... call and checkcall ??

Is this a good line ... or just one of those common donkish lines ???

[ QUOTE ]

2. a King wich doesnt want to you to fold on the Flop

[/ QUOTE ]

And causes doubt in your mind as to strength thus perhaps making you call turn as well ... fair enough, this does not sound bad.

[ QUOTE ]

3. A high trying to make you fold your better Ace or whatever

[/ QUOTE ]

Are we sure this is not folding ??

[ QUOTE ]

4. J8o for whatever reason but thats rare

[/ QUOTE ]

Are we sure this is not folding ??

Honestly ... does this make a case for having no FE what so ever

The king line is not folding off course

The 2 might or might not depending on opponent ... right ??

The same with Ace-high

and J8 is an easy kill

So what am I to think of this actually ... and ok, this is a 1/2 game ... is my FE better at 5/10 against better players (or worse ... and do those ever go for the donk flop line?? )

Fold PF. Blinds are too loose at 1/2 and rake too high for Q5s to be +EV stealing. It may be close to neutral, but variance = insane. Q7s is borderline, IMO.

I don't mind variance ... so if it is neutral, I'll keep it

players arent much better at 5/10 and your FE there isnt great at all..if he donks A high here he isnt folding...he might fold air yes but why not let him bluff? Sue he might fold a 6 outer but you also gain good money by letting him bluff

for the first question i cant really say because i almost never donk but i would c/r or c/c...if i would have taken that line i would fold to a Turn raise for sure

edit: i also think you should fold preflop because 1. rake and 2. you cant really be sur ethat you have the postflop skill for showing a profit with this hand

The first part of this sentence is a concern ... the second

Well NL is my bread and butter ... but I am burned out and looking for a bit of fun and perhaps some improvement in my general poker understanding. We are playing for peanuts here at 1/2 and I don't mind not maksimizing my winrate or losing a bit.

These are my training wheels ... if I ever get serious, I'll move up

Btw, at what stake is the rake more humane (5/10?)

Cool ... 5/10 it is .... and well, I'm a degen gambler .. I started running 40/35 at first ... lol ... but have it down to a more civil 28/23 now (Still very small samples tho)

Edit: I'm modelling myself on Stox' book right now .... once I've digested that, I'll start adjusting ... I am playing halfways in the dark right now .. in many situations just going on instinct ... good fun, perhaps not so good poker ... heh
