Re: The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ
Bump!
OK, I think debate over the hands of this session has died down. I'm going to take down the sticky. If it is the will of the people, we can select a new microposter and do a new session, although we probably won't post it until later this month. Here are some suggestions for next time, though: 1. Convert the hands. I liked giving each person a name, but having everything in the usual format w/ colored suits makes everything easier to read. 2. More hands. I was expecting around 100 hands, or 50ish if you take out the most trivial preflop folds from the 100 hand set. 3. Hang out more in the threads that are started from this. It's valuable coaching, and talking more about what you were thinking in each hand will only help you get better at poker. 4. Link to this FAQ when you make your post. It's alleviate a few WTFs. Overall, I was happy w/ how the forum responded, but it'd be nice to get a little more from the person whose session we're reviewing. |

[ QUOTE ] 1. Convert the hands. I liked giving each person a name, but having everything in the usual format w/ colored suits makes everything easier to read. [/ QUOTE ] Names were good, but a clarification on what some of the names meant might've helped. Also, and this may require a lot of work for the poster, but updated reads throughout the session could generate better responses/discussions too. Labeling someone TAZ or something after a session helps us out, but the advice given might not be aplicable if the person was a total unknown for the first few hands or something. [ QUOTE ] 2. More hands. I was expecting around 100 hands, or 50ish if you take out the most trivial preflop folds from the 100 hand set. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah. More marginal/tough situations can't be a bad thing. |

Re: The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ

1. Convert the hands. I liked giving each person a name, but having everything in the usual format w/ colored suits makes everything easier to read. [/ QUOTE ] The DeucesCracked converter does multiple hands simultaneously and very quickly. I just ran off 63 in just a couple seconds. I don't like that the suits show in the results, but that's a small problem relative to the annoyance of having to convert 100 hands individually: Hand #1 PokerStars $1/$2 Limit Hold'em - 6 players Converted by DeucesCracked.com Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG folds, MP folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB raises, Hero raises, SB calls. Re: The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ
I would recommend expanding to about 200 or more hands, just because the amount of hands that actually get played and are worth any analysis/helpfulness can be real slim in only 100.
