my high school was a top 20 high school when i graduated (newport high school in bellevue, wa). Now its not even in the list. sad.

Heh, yeah, very similar story. I went to Mercer Island. Not sure what happened, or why Kamiak out in po-dunk Mukilteo makes the list but neither of our old schools which reside in rich suburbs do.

We need these schools cross-posted with a richest school districts and I bet there's a noticeable correlation.

Just a quick look at that list had a couple pop out to me :

La Jolla = Rich area of San Diego
Lincoln Park = Rich area of Chicago

I noticed that all the top 100s from MD are in the Bethesda area, which is very wealthy, and in a very rich county in general.

its a pretty crap rating though:

Advanced Placement, Intl. Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school in 2006 divided by the number of graduating seniors.

my school only made top 20 cause it pressured all its kids to take AP classes even if they weren't qualified.

That's how they did it? That's a pretty absurd ranking system. They didn't even take into account the average score on said tests?

This metric will actually negatively impact the AP courses as schools just load the classes with bodies to score high. Meanwhile the content is dumbed down for students who have no business taking that AP hurting the chances of the kids who do.
