My situation right now is kind like DesertCat's in that I drop my daughter off at school in the am, then I can make it over to the card room for about 3 hours and get back to pick her up from school. From about 11:00 on it starts to get busy but their are a lot of tables going and constantly being added in the AM.

IME, you are much more likely to find the great game or great fish later in the shift than earlier in the day.
While I do not log a lot of daytime hours anymore, I have yet to recall a single time when a person came to my table during the day and dropped 3-10 buy-ins in a couple of downs, while there are more times than I can count that has happened during the evening and night time hours. |

I know that more gamboolers, looser, and the worst of the worst players all come out at night and there is more action, but my records clearly show that I do way better during the day than at night. Guess I'll stick with what is working for now.

I believe that its easier to win at night than day. I play primarily 10/20 LHE @ Foxwoods. However, I play mostly Fridays and Saturdays during the days and evenings. Twice I made wild comebacks of about 40 bb's in 3-5 hour spans after 1pm. And another time I won over 25 bb's in half an hour with 4 opponents.
The few times I played late into the night, I did it because the table was so favorable and I judged that I was more awake than the other players. Another reason I think it is so favorable after 1pm is that the tables start to get shorter (5-7 players) and I played so much 6 max online that it is second nature for me to adjust - whereas many of my opponents don't adjust. However, I have now trained myself to leave when I am tired and tables are about to be combined - making a full table. I am in no shape to learn the tendencies of new players. Also, I get very passive the more tired I feel. |

It really depends on the game. I play during the day a lot in NYC, and the games have always been good. I play with a lot of regulars. As a result, I know how all of them play and I know how they think I play. And it's almost like playing in a home game. I like it and it's profitable. I can speak for casinos, though.
