500K is possible depending on how many accounts this guy hacked.

I've done pretty much the same thing as your roommates friend. I'd be skeptical of the details since you arent talking to him firsthand, but its certainly possible. I did start with $100 though.

Out of curiosity I checked and still have my original pt data. I don't have info on pacific where I first deposited, and made about $100 before withdrawing. I also don't have my interpoker results since I would whore their monthly reload bunus while building a bankroll, and I was winning there.

Looking back I was very disciplined and couldn't repeat my results, but I was brand new to the game then and learning poker was a lot of fun. Wow my hourly was depressing.

I started play in sep 04, this is through oct 04. I had a 10k bankroll by end of the year.

But of course this never happens.

I'm not sure what this means, even tho I understand your post, I find it hard to believe that anyone, especially a beginner player, would be THAT disciplined. I guess I'm wrong on this point, but wouldn't it take MONTHS even at penny games where the winning is relatively easy, to build your bankroll into something substantial so you could have a shot at it? And wouldn't you have to pretty much always run well?

You'd be surprised.

I have never made a deposit from my bank account onto a poker site. A small site gave me $.90 from some crappy promotion they had, and that was my starting bankroll when I was 17 years old, a little over a year ago. I was already a member of 2+2, so I had read that a solid bankroll is 300BBs in Limit. I started playing the lowest limits on the site, which were $.05/$.10, and told myself that I would stay at those limits until I had the bankroll to move up, which would be $60 for $.10/$.20.

A 9BB bankroll sure isn't much, but luck can take you pretty far. I *DIDN'T* go broke, and I'm *VERY* disciplined with my bankroll management. A little over a year later, which is present day, my bankroll has grown to nearly $20K and I'm playing $2/$4 NL. All from $.90. I've nearly beaten Chris Ferguson's achievement of $1 to $20K (although I think it's taken me longer). And I've only been 18 for two months.

Poker is an amazing thing.

I deposited $50 to Stars 2 years ago and have never gone bust or even come close to it. My total profits including casino whoring are probably in the 50k area.

I'm pretty sure aba likes FTP. You don't even need his PT results, since it's chronicled on a daily basis on here.

FWIW. I know tons of people who make a living on FTP. I'm not sure why a "funny" RNG would make every single player a loser...since...that makes no sense.

Here's my Full Tilt graph from the last month (since I got this laptop). Almost all $100 and $50 PLO.

It could definitely be an exaggeration, however, it's certainly possible. Consider $100 NL tables with one individual whose stack is $700 or $800. They obviously know how to win. When you play at these smaller sites, too, it's always the same people winning and winning and winning, time after time. I know other people who have made one time deposits and never made any further deposits, so if that's what you find hard to understand, believe it.
