[ QUOTE ]
This is a situation where your hand is good enough to raise preflop. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed [ QUOTE ] If your cbet gets called then fine, you dont know where you stand especially if the turn is a club, in which case you're almost always beaten by an Ace with a kicker > 3, an 8 or a club draw. By raising preflop and cbetting you're taking this down on the flop more often than not which we should be happy with. [/ QUOTE ] Disagree. With 32o we want to take this down on the flop. With a pair of aces we want to make as much money as we can possibly make off this guy. [ QUOTE ] This is'nt a hand where you are looking for action because getting called leaves you lost on the turn oop. Checking does the same thing though. What do you do if you check the flop and villain checks behind? Now do you fire a bet? [/ QUOTE ] Yes...you fire a bet hoping he picked up a pair of kings. Now he doesnt believe you have the ace, so he will call you with something other than a better ace, 8, or a flush draw. [ QUOTE ] You're still wa/wb though more often ahead at this point, but still in a predicament where you only get called by something that beats you. [/ QUOTE ] No, now you are getting called by hands that dont beat you or bluffed to by hands that dont beat you. [ QUOTE ] The only difference is, you've given a free card. [/ QUOTE ] There is one draw here. we can risk a free card. [ QUOTE ] What if you had QJ here and raised to steal preflop? Would a cbet not be in order? Of course it would because there is an Ace on board and you can probably take down the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Absolutely a cbet is in order. I dont get your point. |

People donīt fold in blind vs blind battles. Ever. Even nits (like me) turns into complete spewmonkeys. Bet the flop, check/call turn, check/call river seems to get the most out of his likely airy hands. If a club hits and he bets big you could probably fold.

This is BvB.
Definitly raise PF. Not raising is quite bad. The turn card is good for you. I 3-street this for value. |
