This is why you don't talk to exgirlfriends once you're passed the we're-broken-up-but-we-still-bang stage. None of this would be an issue. Also, you're 24 so go out and bang a bunch of broads.

we've been flirting like hell over the last few months, and it felt like it was going the right direction

This my friend, is why you aren't the one getting married.

You gotta have BALLZ. The whole, "we've been flirting" thing ain't gonna get the job done, you gotta take her out, and let the big dog eat.

You should flirt for DAYS, then once you see an opening, shoot.

Hold up!

How have you been 'flirting' for the last few months and not know that this chick is clearly steady with some other guy and now she's on her way to getting married??

It's quite a complicated story, me and her. For starters, I've been living abroad for the last 3,5 months. And even when I was back home, there's quite a distance between us.

I haven't really been talking to her about my girl endeavours lately, and she hasn't told me about hers. Nothing good could come out of that. She's been going through a real hell hole of poo poo lately (raped by a colleague), and it just didn't occur to me that she was even remotely interested in seeing anyone.
I think I have a clue on what's going on with her and this engagement, we'll talk more in the next week or so, and hopefully I'll have a clearer picture.

Me and her hooking up any time soon really hasn't been plausible in the near future, so her seeing some guy is kind of expected (that is, if she wasn't emotionally crippled lately), and wouldn't hurt, but the being tied up for all eternity (well, in theory) deal kind of bugs me.

I honestly feel it is/was realistic for me and her to hook up for real at some point, this year, next year, in three years. We've known each other for a few years and our relationship is quite absurd.

I realize the above might not make a lot of sense, as the story is absurd, really.

As for texting with the prego one. Well, I'm not emotionally attached to her in that way any longer. We broke up 3,5 years ago, and haven't slept with one another for over three years. But she's a terrific person and I value her as a friend. Still feels iffy.

If I'm single and childless by 40 I'll sure to knock half a dozen women up around the world, just because I could have so much fun with writing the will.

Yeah 26 is definitely not early. 22 or 23 is pretty early. <21 is stupid.

Anyway, it happens. Don't stress out. My boss didn't get married until she was like 33. BTW get ready to say goodbye to poker once you're hitched. Haha.
