Re: Hmmmmm. Then I thought and said hmmmmmm again
[ QUOTE ]
I gave the very good short all-in player 77+, AJ+, KQs If I give the BB 88+ and AK, you are basically in a dead heat for the side pot. If you take away 88 from the BB's range, it is an easy fold. If you add anything to the BB's range (77 or AQ), you have enough edge to call IMHO. I haven't played a tourney like this at Stars in ages so you'll have to assign your own range to the unknown BB. Later, Che [/ QUOTE ] Isn't there some chance that AA or KK gets discounted for BB b/c he might call (or at least raise less than a shove) with those hands hoping Woodguy comes over the top or to build a sidepot later with him? At least some chance...? |

Re: Hmmmmm. Then I thought and said hmmmmmm again
good god, BB hand screams TT here to me. I've seen this way too often of late to just instafold JJ here. QQ is a maybe, AA and KK call or make a small reraise to induce a push. AK might shove here and I dont mind taking flips. In the end, I call.

I think it's a fold because you're UTG.

Re: Hmmmmm. Then I thought and said hmmmmmm again
[ QUOTE ]
FWIW, I think raising 4xBB is duh...umm also. [/ QUOTE ] Depends on the buy-in... In a 109FO, where you're likey to have 5-6 good players at your table, a 4x raise with JJ is pointless. In a low buy-in tourney, the same raise is of great value. Other than that, I think it's a fold, but it's really, really close. A good player makes this move with a wider range than a worse player, no? |

Re: Hmmmmm. Then I thought and said hmmmmmm again
Wow. I'm a bit surprised by this thread. I call. What's your standard BB going to do with AQ here, or AJs, or 88? He's not folding and he's not calling... This shouldn't be an easy call but, early in an online MTT, this is more or less a snap call for me.

Re: Hmmmmm. Then I thought and said hmmmmmm again
at first I thought this was an easy call but the more I think about this hand the more I want to call. I think his range is more middle to weaker side of a tight range which makes me more likely to call with JJ because I personal am discounting AA/KK a lot and think he shows up with a lower pair enough for a call.
