Default River Value Bet Anyone?

Limit: $1/$2
10 players

Only read on villain was when he called 3 cold preflop with AQo, flopped TP2K and called down.
Stats: 44/17/0.6 over a small sample (50 hands).

Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
3 folds, <font color="#cc0000">MP1 raises</font>, MP2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero 3-bets</font>, 4 folds, MP1 calls.

Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7.5SB, 2 players)
MP1 checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, MP1 calls.

Turn: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4.75BB, 2 players)
MP1 checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, MP1 calls.

River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6.75BB, 2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero ???

obligatory blind response: yup

obligatory eyes-open response: the first chk ever to this kid of post! there is no value in betting. we can only beat non-pairs. We are rarely folding a better hand here, unless this guy's WTSD is low (or folds-to-river-bet is high)

pajo, i suspect you had the better hand at the river. Think about it this way: you got value out of your flop &amp; turn bets, but since the guy did not make his pair, he is folding his non-pair too often for this bet to be worthwhile against the times he calls with a better hand.
