I like the structure the way you have it just now, as long as if I bust out, I am allowed two rebuys to bring my stack up to 1000. I can't see anything I would change. The skilled players will have an edge in the long run - a weak player winning three weeks in a row doesn't mean that much.

Try maybe starting with more than 50 bets, its kind of a short stack. Try like 80-100 bets. Maybe start with more bets and use an ante in the 5th or 6th level. Then there is more action without being forced all in on every flop after a preflop raise. There you go the whole event takes a shorter amount of time without sacrificing the skill aspect of the game. Here is how i run my tournaments. 20 minute blinds starting stack of 5000 blinds start at 25-25 25-50, 50-100, 100-200(25 ante), 150-300(25), 200-400(50), 300-600(75),400-800(75),500-1000(100) etc [/ QUOTE ] Going from 50-100 to 100-200(25 ante) is a huge jump. Why don't you have 100-200 with no antes in between? |

Personally, I don't like your structure. There's too many small jumps with too many big jumps. You go from 10-20 to 20-40, then 25-50, 50-100, etc.
As some have quoted, if you've run a successful game, why change it. But, if you're looking to tweak it, try the following structure. You only need three denominations of chips to start (25, 100, 500). Starting Stack: 3000, 4000, or 5000 Blind Levels: 20 or 30 Minutes 25-50 50-100 75-150 100-200 150-300 200-400 250-500 300-600 400-800 500-1000 600-1200 800-1600 1000-2000 1200-2400 1500-3000 2000-4000 2500-5000 3000-6000 4000-8000 5000-10000 |
