Boards too coordinated for the c/r to be only indicitive of strength. It may hide your draw a little, but not much. I think a c/c is better and gives you more options on the turn.

The flop c/r is the standard semibluff line here. Ideally, you should mix up your c/r semibluffs with lines where you c/c and donk the turn, c/c and c/r the turn, donk the flop, and even just c/c and c/c the turn.

20/40 HULA, Level I
- Villain sitting in seat 1 with 1310.00 [Dealer]
- Hero sitting in seat 2 with 2690.00

Preflop: Hero is BB with: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="red">Villain raises</font>, Hero calls

Flop: (4 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero checks, <font color="red">Villain bets</font>, <font color="red">Hero Raises</font>, <font color="red">Villain 3-Bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="blue">Hero ??</font>

My hand has improved, but by how much? If he has a 9x, 6x, ace or perhaps king-high I've pulled ahead. If he has overpair or Qx I still have my OESD, though that 3rd heart is naturally worse than it being a different suit.

So, what's the plan?

You c/r the flop indicating either a strong made hand or strong draw, but didn't cap which puts it back in the draw camp. About elventy-2 draws just came in so lead the turn.

checkraising that turn is asking to be pwnd.

you've improved to a showdown hand that has pulled ahead of at least some of his flop threeballing range. check, call and pay less when behind plus still get the bet in when ahead.

then bet any non-heart river (even if you improve) as his weaker pairs will check through if given the chance. Deal with river bluffraises as reads and tempo permit.

I realize that action suggested on the turn is often in combo, like the C/R, C/C, so there might not be a lot more discussion generated here. Still, for systematic purposes, this is our next technical decision. This could be an ideal time for others to join in too or reinforce why you'd do what you'd do. Once again, I'll advance it when class is over.

That was a fun class. Nearly NC thread worthy.

Preflop: Hero is BB with: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Flop: (4 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero checks, <font color="red">Villain bets</font>, <font color="red">Hero Raises</font>, <font color="red">Villain 3-Bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Hero checks, <font color="red">Villain Bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (7 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="blue">Hero ??</font>
