The hands that beat goof atm are 9T, JT, AQ(discounted cuz I think most villians check behind with this hand) and j9(maybe with diamonds ?). I say call. [/ QUOTE ] carrot, What you said were exactly my first thoughts about the hand. The thing is I could sort of see him limping w/ AA/KK (unusual, but this is an unusual hand) w/ the intention of raising but then holding back when a nit made a big raise from the BB. Then on the flop, he decided his hand didn't look so hot anymore (vs a nit) and went into check/call mode. On the river, once goofy checks he probably figures he has the best hand and that goofy might try to pick a missed draw off.

So many times I've felt that a villain could not possibly have hand X because I could not possibly have hand X (in that spot) only to be shown hand X!!!

slowplaying very strong hands on very drawy boards is something that the vast majority of TAGS simply don't do, so you shouldn't expect them to do it just because you do it...

They will never put you on a set because they say "wtf, he would never slowplay a set on such a wet board"

You only have to be good like 30%, it'd be really hard for me to give up such good pot odds when I think he can have lots of missed draws. I think he might call 2/3 pot on the turn with some draws. I'm not in love with the turn bet either. This is a pretty wierd hand.
