Not when the flight over is about $600 and there's probably only going to be a shot or two in it lol. No. When I'm in the US again, sure. why not. I'm sure it would be fun.

Jeeze man, don't take it all too seriously. i-had-a-good-day-and-wanted-to-share-it.

GoldenIP,

Great round. Particularly on a course rated that tough. It sounds like you're familiar with the track, I find I play much better on courses I'm comfortable on (which comes from playing it a lot, of course).

Also, not sure what the backstory is with THE JUICE, guess I'm missing that thread. If he's implying something as simple as a golfer's range of scores doesn't include an outlier or two, then that's wrong. I'm a 2 HDCP and I've had a 68 and 92 in the past month.

P.S my final comment regarding the "THE JUICE" debate. i could actually brag about the course record i have and take a photo of the pic of the score card on the wall when i'm in scotland next. but, that wasn't a big deal at all because it was only a 68 and that was in the height of my college career....but i didn't. i wasn't particularly fussed about that because i've shot lots of 67s/68s but never a 66.

anyways. if anyone has a sensible comments to make or questions to ask, fire away.

tuq - he basically couldn't believe i could shoot that low potentially. and secondly, not consider myself good enough to go pro. i was alway humble that unless you're ave. 70-71 in college tourney's, EVEN IF YOU DO HAVE A SCRATCH CAP, that you are not anywhere near good enough to play PGA tour. It's that simple and Tour Golf is THAT hard.

from your writing, you seem like you could definitely understand how even yourself could really get it going one day and shoot 66.

yes, i considered it my home track for 18 months. played it a tonne of times. It definitely is easier than the rating suggests. that 10th hole never plays all the way back...it was like 560 that day, meh.

so my answer, yes, very comfortable. i don't even need to look at a single sprinkler head on the entire course.

and it's alway hot and firm in SC...9,900 plays like 9,600. It's easy to hit the ball a long way in those conditions and on that course.

here is the dumb thread from BBV4LIFE FYI and a catch up;

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...;gonew=1#UNREAD

Ghostface: AWESOME point in that thread. Here it is everyone and it completely sums up golf and what can happen. That's why I said it was a really dumb point to make. No offense THE JUICE but that was entirely ignorant:

64 or lower is definately good enough to play professionally

This is so out of context its pointless. A members kid where I work came out and blazed the course one day and shot 63 with bogeys on two of the easiest holes on the course. Next day he shot 65. He's struggling on mini tours in Florida.

altho the course is 6126 from blacks tees and 69/138 rating slope

Look at Bryce Molder!!!

4-time All-American (only 1 of 4 in history). Probably the brightest college prospect in the last few years but is not even close to living up to expectations.

what's that player from the 80s and 90s....the final 4yr All-American next to Duval, Tiger, and Phil?? Gary Hulbert.

THe guy was a college God but has never made a cent playing golf.

So incredibly out of context it's unreal.

I live in Phoenix. My first round of the year comes in January.

Three big things working against me in that 92:

- a course I really don't like and have never played well on (Phoenix CC)
- had lifted weights hard the day before and was very sore
- perhaps the big one, I was stone cold sober...I am honestly like a 12 HDCP sober, that's why the swing oil comes out before the first hole, even if the tee time is at 7AM

It was just a perfect storm. I shot a 98 (!) at Troon North last fall during a phase where I was trying to play completely sober. Total disaster. And that was under easy conditions, up one tee.
