OP: As others have indicated, your best bet is to do everything possible to get into a top business school and get in that way. While people do get in from undergraduate programs, it's extremely competitive and damn near impossible to get noticed by a company without the assistance of a college recruiting office. I actually think your efforts with a startup may be attractive to some firms, but, as you've seen, just applying through the bank's website will rarely result in anything.

If you happen to have any kind of contacts at any firm that you'd want to work at, that would help immensely with getting noticed. Otherwise, the MBA is by far the best bet.
