Default Re: How to handle poor poker etiquette?

Heres a thought. Impose a small fine for players doing this (get a can and each time a player does this they have to put a $1 chip in the can (the money can later be used for food/beer/chips/new cards whatever) The amount of the fine should be enough that they won't do intentionally because they thinbk its amusing, but not so muchj money that a player is going to ge upset and leave because they get hit by the fine.he fine could be progressibve (like the first time a player does it in the night its $1, the next time $2, etc.)

This will have the effect of dissuading players from doing it and also getting the other players to police it.

We've had people call 250 pf with T9o. How much should I fine someone like that?

No need to fine them. In fact you might want to give them some of the fine money collected from the players who can't shut up. Whatever you can do to encourage this type of play.

i think what his point is, is "if they are willing to call $250 with T9o, they don't really care about money."

Honestly, if this ^ is the case, where the players are calling all that money with crap hands, I don't think it makes a difference if someone says what they had, or what someone else might have, its meaningless in a game this donkish.

Interesting point that I hadnt even really considered. I guess if everyone were donkeys this would be fine, but only 1/2 of the players are donkeys
