Franklin was on my left toward the end of day 1 in Niagra. He was the table chipleader and one of the tournament chip leaders and he was really tough to deal with.
He was very aggressive both preflop and postflop. He would call a pf raise with ~30% of hands whenever he had decent position and he would not hesitate to raise continuation bets to put the origional raiser to the test. With Hoyt on his right he is probably going to take the role of table captain. Don't be afraid to lead into him with your monsters, especially on drawy boards, he raises the flop in position a lot. During the 3 hours or so I was at his table (admitedly a microscopic sample size) I do not recall anyone 3 betting him on the flop and most hands that I saw him show down were speculative hands that he raised the flop with and spiked the turn (I believe he slowed down when he hit those hands but we are talking about no more than 2-3 hands played 6 months ago so take that for what its worth) I do not recall ever attacking his blinds nor can I remember how vigorously he defends his blinds. Also, he will not stop talking about his damn patents... I suggest bringing a picture of Brandi to the table and asking him to autograph it, that should throw him off his game. |

Well Rehne won the 15k Five Diamond World Poker Classic in 04 ahead of Antonius. He did get very lucky when it was down to HU as I'm sure some people will remember. A4 vs AK.
He also ran deep in this event last year. He writes in his blog that he was very unlucky and card dead on day 1 but that he likes his draw for today with only one big stack at the table. He says that thanks to the deep structure he still feels that he has a good chance if he can double up. I'm sure that's what he aggressively will be looking for. |

Rehne Pedersen won the Five-Diamond in 05 and also cashed in this event last year. You can also find seating assignments at pokerwire or pokerpages(although pp is mixed up).

As for your table, it seems like a lot of fairly unknown people. Ive played with both Hoyt and Tom and the both seem like the stuborn type that will take offense if you keep playing back at them...which is great if you get cards but sucks if you dont. I tend to just stay out of their way. As for the unknowns, figure out what they do bad and play accordingly. [/ QUOTE ] It's funny. I played with Tom for an extended day in Tunica, and I got the completely opposite view. He seemed like your standard older guy who thought he had some huge advantage over these 'young players'. Well, it was extremely easy to use this against him, and he single handedly allowed me to survive the day. |

I think you should focus on Hoyt. I have a really good feeling that you can take some chips from him.
