I'm going to be on in a couple of weeks. It will cost me $20K to enter, no added money or anything.

The TV exposure makes it worthwhile, plus, I believe I will be +EV (though I don't yet know who I'm playing against).

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

Greg,

I spoke with one of the producers today and she told me you would be on with Gus Hanson, Doyle Brunson, Patrick Antonius, jamie Gold and Mike Matasow.

Also, why is there cash on the table in a tournament? Are they trying to cash in (no pun intended) on the success of HSP?

[/ QUOTE ]

Errr, they were putting the cash on the table at big tournies before HSP was ever around.

It's a good thing Doyle is paired with Jamie Gold. Doyle's "God, why did I agree to play, I could've been having a colonoscopy right now" would be canceled out by Jamie's "Gosh, I'm so tickled!"

We're talking about something different. In PAD, the cash bundles are used in play, which looks stupid in a tournament setting and kills the flow of the game as players are always having to make change.

GL Greg. Are you hoping for Matusow to be on? That will certainly add to your EV, as well as make for good TV.

Hmm... contrary to what Raymer says, there was a comment made by Sheiky in the first episode this week that made me think that they players actually didn't pay their own buy in. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I seem to recall that the players who were sponsored by Full Tilt had their buy-in paid for by Full Tilt.
