Re: AA 250 BB effective stacks in monster pot.
[ QUOTE ]
If he bets the flop, you can call. I think he'll check behind on the turn and you can value-bet the river. Leading the flop will only get action from the hands you're losing to unless he turns his hand into a bluff (QQ/JJ). Regardless, it's going to be difficult to get his entire stack . [/ QUOTE ] how are u not gettin his stakc, if u get 2 streets of value? And this is assuming small bets... if he bets anywhere close to pot on flop, it becomes trivial, no? Question for all-- we go broke to AK/KK, right... but we let HIM do the betting... you have 800 left, pot is 400... he bets 200 on flop, now u have 600 left and pot is 800... are u betting 400 of 600 on river? |

Re: AA 250 BB effective stacks in monster pot.
Just bet the damn flop for $200-$300 and I guarantee you he calls.

Re: AA 250 BB effective stacks in monster pot.
I checked. He bet $300 and I CR AI and he instacalled turning over the other AA. WHEW. Just wanted to see if that was OK.

Re: AA 250 BB effective stacks in monster pot.
J-Lo,
I'm wondering the same about the river vb if one of the streets goes check/check follwed by bet/call or check/call. Last bet doesn't necessarily have to be pot, some will look interpret shoves as bluffs and make heroic calls others will call smaller bets because they may appear to be bluffy. That's probably opponent dependent and something I need to study carefully. How do most go about the last round of betting? |

check all streets, call one bet total. I only see you ahead of QQ, I'd put him on QQ+, AK.

Against most opponents you're not gonna get action from anything other than AK and if you have them beat now they're drawing to 2 outs anyway. How can you discount AK from his handrange? I would think its a huge part. You are way ahead or way behind [or tied, I guess]. Also I hate the other guy's bet. How is it that you see this flop and the thought is to get everything in as soon as possible? If it was 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I could understand thinking that and betting would be a lot better. |

Re: AA 250 BB effective stacks in monster pot.
if you check he's checking. you 4bet and then check a kkx board. anyone else think AK is mostly out of his range? i like betting because it's a 400 buck pot and he's not bluff raising you i don't think.
an argument can definatly be made for checking though, since the only bad card for you really is a queen |
