Re: KTo - Flop Decision
well you need to make up 4 BB on turn and river, if it's not 3 bet.
if it's 3 bet you already need to make up 8 BB, so it depends on how likely it's going to be 3 bet... if it's only 3 bet less than 10% of the time i would make that call since i think the implied odds should be at least 5 BB... |

Re: KTo - Flop Decision
How are supposed to get implied odds of 5 BB on average?
That there's been some action on the flop doesn't mean everybody will willingly go to showdown no matter what. |

Re: KTo - Flop Decision
they dont need to. look at our position. look at the position of the aggressors. consider how much of a scarecard the J will be for them (not at all).

Re: KTo - Flop Decision
[ QUOTE ]
they dont need to. look at our position. look at the position of the aggressors. consider how much of a scarecard the J will be for them (not at all). [/ QUOTE ] Consider how many of our opponents are also making bad flop peels and will fold the turn when it doesn't improve them. Look at our position relative the last flop aggressor, compared to our position relative the rest of the field. If we hit our J and raise the turn, we face BB (and UTG when he comes along) with 2 cold. On a big street. We also very effectively simulate a flopped monster that waited for the big streets to raise by calling 2 on the flop & then raising a seemingly blank turn card. Our implied odds are not good. In a perfect world it doesn't get reraised on the flop, UTG calls another bet, BB has QJ, UTG has T8, MP2 still thinks his 97 is the nuts, and MP3 has JT. The turn is our J, the river bricks, and we win a huge pot. Winning poker isn't about best case scenarios, though. You have to weigh every possible scenario, and make the best decision you can based on the information available. And the best decision here is to fold for 2 cold on the flop. |
